APA Plywood Grades – Overview

APA Structural Plywood Grades, Finish and Veneer Strength

The main grades for APA’s structural plywood panels are:  A-A, A-B, A-C, B-B, B-C;,C-C, C-D, D-D, Sturd-I-Floor, Underlayment, CC plugged, CD plugged.  Select a grade below and you will find that panel’s specific finish, veneer strengths and the wood species used, as well as the bond durability and hence the panel’s moisture resistance.

Plywood Grades: A-A; A-B; A-C; B-B; B-C; C-C
Plywood Grades: C-D &D-D
Plywood: Sturd-I-Floor; Underlayment; CC plugged; CD plugged

APA structural panels are manufactured to US PS1-19 or PS 2 -18 standards. The checklist also tells you the equivalent European standards relevant to each grade. View here for more on European standards for structural use. Also see APA technical information on plywood performance characteristics for specific applications.
