Plywood – Biological durability – Guidance for the assessment of plywood for use in different use classes
This gives guidance on the selection of plywood for use in the different use classes given in EN 335-1. It takes into account the natural durability classification for solid timber (see EN 350-2) together with other factors specific to plywood. Durability against chemico-physical factors such as weathering, is not covered, nor does it consider the biological durability of the adhesive.
The standards covers:
Precautionary measures for use
- Rules for selection
- Use of treated plywood
- Installation principles
Influence of plywood composition on biological durability
Use of plywood in different use classes
- Wood-destroying fungi
- Insects and marine organisms
